Our Story
As Told By The Real Star of The Show, Lola McNugget
Hi, I’m Lola, the princess of this household. Since my humans are too busy planning their wedding, I’ll tell you their story—because let’s be honest, I’ve been there for all the good parts.
It all started when Mom visited Squamish for a weekend of waterlining at Cat Lake. The weekend kicked off with a party at Dad's house, where he couldn't take his eyes off her. The next day, after chatting on Dad's floaty, he asked her out to dinner, and what was supposed to be a weekend getaway turned into five days. By the end of the year, Mom had moved to Squamish.
Their days were filled with adventure—B.A.S.E. jumping, highlining, snowboarding (with Dad teaching Mom how to ride the powder—almost breaking them up!), canoeing, camping, hiking, and endless laughs.
By the end of 2021, they had moved into a tiny cottage in the woods.
Then the best thing ever happened—they adopted me! Life was never the same.
Mom started picking up new sports just so we could do them together—cross-country skiing, paddleboarding, you name it. Dad, meanwhile, kept me entertained with magic tricks. (Where does Dad always disappear?)
Having me around made them slow down, sniff the flowers (I taught them well), and start dreaming bigger. By 2023, they were deep into planning their shipping container house—aka my future palace. We’ve spent the last year road-tripping across BC, searching for the perfect spot to build it. I’ve seen lakes, mountains, and more gas station snack stops than I can count.
Now, we’re all getting ready to celebrate their love with family, friends, and probably way too much dancing. I couldn’t be happier for them and can’t wait to meet the rest of the family!
